Finals have approached. Rather quickly I might add. Where the heck did the semester go?

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Sorry. I suck. I know. I promise to return soon though.

My life was pretty lame for awhile there.

And by awhile I mean for the past 28 years.

Whatever. I like it. It’s mine. I can do whatever I want with it.

I’m writing this after another break from studying. Probably a too soon break but I have all night to study as I have already decreed a no-sleep-for-jessi-all-night night.

Tomorrow is going to suck grande cojones (Fact: I just Googled “How do you say balls in Spanish” because I didn’t know how to spell cojones) but oh well. Come Tuesday at 10am I will be a school-free woman until early-January. Check it.

I hope to have a lot of sub jobs until December 21st when school lets out for the local district. So far nothing though. Bummer.

I really need money. I’ve barely worked all semester. Funds are low peeps.

Charity is welcomed.

Just kidding.

But seriously.

Other than working I also plan on writing again. I’ve neglected my novel for almost two years now. I wrote a couple of pages a few weeks ago. Slow and steady wins the race right?

I have yet another book idea. I need to either stop getting book ideas or write faster. This is getting a little out of hand.

Well, my study break is over. I have a few minutes to go reheat my tea before I reread for the millionth time about ancient China, Japan, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. I love history, I love history, I love history.

I will keep chanting this mantra all night.

I love history, I love history, I love history…

Monday was my first day of school. I have class on M W & F. So far so good. I’m taking 12 credits this semester. I was going to take 15 but I’m taking 3 history classes and 1 geography class. Which means a LOT of memorization. I didn’t want to overwhelm myself so I took it easy again.

“First day of school! First day of school!” – Nemo

Yesterday I was 15 minutes late to my first class. I hate being late. I always leave at the same time everyday. I allow myself 1hr and 15min to drive the 40min to Cbus. But due to construction and idiot drivers who can’t read simple road sides, I was late. My professor was cool about it much to my surprise and delight. I think I was more upset than he was.

I’m one of those weird, nerdy people who likes to be at least 10 minutes early to class. Mostly because I want a good seat.

In other news, I have the most adorable niece and nephew ever.

Don’t argue with me. I have proof.

Super Thomas!

I love her face. This is a classic Emma face. She get’s her awesomeness from her aunt. Of course.

I’m going up to visit them in a couple weeks. I miss them so much.

I just finished chapter 3 of the book!!!!!!

I apologize for not writing about it in detail yet. I’m trying to decide if I want to do a chapter by chapter review or do a topic by topic review. The first few chapters so far cover similar things which is why I’m debating.

I promise I will review soon! Don’t hate me!

I am an assistant coach for a volleyball team at the YMCA and tonight was our first practice.

My good friend coaches (coach’s???) her daughters team and needed an assistant. She chose me based on my expert experience in coaching. Or she just couldn’t find anyone else in such short notice…I prefer the first one. I mean, I do have like 8 years of coaching experience. Granted it’s in rugby. And with high schoolers. Not volleyball and 9 year olds. But still. Coaching is coaching. Right?

I prefer high schoolers. 9 year olds are crazy and loud and they don’t follow directions very well and I can’t just yell “go take a lap!” when they don’t listen to my instruction. It’s definitely going to be a challenge. But it’s a lot of fun so far. The kids are cute and they get so excited when they do something right. Lots of squealing and jumping up and down.

Wish me luck!

P.S. I just realized, after reviewing my post, that I suck at transitions. I’m sorry. This is honestly how my brain thinks so bear with me. That is all.

I just ordered this book online:

*gulp* Don’t hurt me too much, please Miss Yeager.

It should arrive within a few weeks.

I’m excited to start this program but also a bit apprehensive. I’ve read a few reviews on it and it seems pretty tough. The reviews I’ve read state that this workout program is for “fit chicks”. How fit are we talking here? Because I sort of linger between couch potato and Lance Armstrong. Leaning a bit toward couch potato. Okay, a lot towards couch potato. Then again, Lance Armstrong is a cycling freak. In a good way of course.

I really am serious about doing this charity bike tour. But in the shape I’m in now, riding only 10 miles a day, 6 days a week, is not going to get me any better. I need to push myself. However, to push myself I first need to find the right direction to push toward. This is where Miss Yeager comes in.

I want to get back into the shape and fitness level I was early on in college. Way back in 2003-2005. Actually, I would prefer to get better than that but first things first I suppose. I found this picture and decided to use it as a motivator:

I often bed surf. It’s fun. Try it.

(I apologize for the crappy quality. I haven’t hooked up my scanner yet so I had to use my cell phone) That’s what I look like when I run 7 miles a day and lift weights and do crunches and do pushups and have an undiagnosed stomach disorder that results in me not being able to eat 95% of what is served in the cafeteria and being too poor to buy good food.

Honestly, it’s not that entirely too far off from where I am now. Only about 40lbs or so. Which is totally doable, given the right motivator. Stomach disorder has been diagnosed and I have funds to purchase healthy foods so now all that is needed is the exercise.

Bring it.

I WILL get to a point where I can bike 30+ miles at one time in a reasonable amount of time.

“I know I can, I know I can, I know I can.” – The Little Engine That Could

And I will be sure to give you a post-by-post account of my journey with this book. The good, bad, and ugly. Nothing will be left out. Pinky promise.

Finals were last week. Not too stressful but also not something I want to do again. Oh wait…dang.

I got my grades. Finally.

Would you like to know what they are?

Before I tell you, you have to do a drumroll because I have never had grades this good before. Ever. During my undergrad years I was not what you would call, a good student. I wasn’t bad though. I passed my classes but I used the motto “C’s equal Degrees”. This is true but C’s do not equal “go to grad school”.

So without further adieu, my grades:

Western Civilization II – B+
Political Science – B
Educational Psychology – B+
Foundations of Education – A-

That equals a 3.3GPA! My highest before this semester was a 2.4GPA. I am over the top proud of myself!

Go me!

I now am obsessed with trying to get straight A’s. Stay tuned until December 2012 to find out.

I’m OFFICIALLY all signed up for classes.

FAFSA completed. Registration done. Fees paid. Books and school supplies purchased.

Wallet empty.

I am taking 12 hours this semester. I’m going to take it easy at first since I’m working as well. I don’t want to overload and flunk out!

I’m taking:

Western Civilization II
Intro to Political Science
Foundations of Education
Educational Psychology

I was able to schedule all my classes on Tues/Thurs which leaves my Mon/Wed/Fri open for work!

I’m excited and nervous. Mostly excited though. I love school and learning. If I could be a professional student I would but I hear the pay sucks.

Wish me luck!
